Red, red, red.

On Monday, students are encouraged to wear something with red on it (shoes, hat, shirt, pants, etc) to help celebrate the beginning of the Lunar New Year.

Students discussed many aspects of the celebration and compared it to others we have learned about throughout the year.  We have been reading various texts about Chinese New Year such as, Bringing In the New Year by Grace Lin, Lion Dancer: Ernie Wan’s Chinese New Year by Kate Waters and D is for Dragon Dance by Ying Chang Compestine.

Lion Dancer: Ernie Wan's Chinese New Year (Reading Rainbow Books)

Be sure to remember your reds for Monday!
